Biggest African poker event yet is only weeks away

Excitement is building internationally as Africa's biggest poker championship yet - the five day South African Poker Festival - moves closer.  Scheduled for May 9 to 13, some of the biggest names in the poker world will convene in the southern part of Africa next month for the inaugural South Africa Poker Festival.

Included on the agenda: a poker fantasy camp to be hosted by world-renowned Omaha expert Robert Williamson III and fellow pro "Cowboy" Kenna James, and the $3 000 buy-in South African Poker Open to finish the festival off with a bang.

Among online poker rooms getting behind the festival is Paradise Poker, which is giving players a chance to win sponsorships through daily satellites, with an April 21 super satellite to decide who gets the $7 000 prize packages.

$4, $5 and $10 re-buys run regularly throughout the day, all leading to the $150 super satellite tournament at 9:00 p.m. (GMT) on April 21. |
